Skatemeet No.7-Harlow

Well it’s been a while since i organized a skatemeet due to travelling and the weather here in the UK but it was time for another skatepark session. This time i chose Harlow. A relatively new park with a bowl and small street section. I found out how small it really was after turning up on Sunday morning. The weather was awesome with the sun shining down and having an amazing turnout or around 50 skaters. The biggest yet.

Sim Warren and Hallsy made the trip from Dover, Tim Parker from Cambridge and Dan Tillet and Rob Nunn from Rochester, Jamie Stenner from Bogna Regis and a huge London crew came to test out the new park and they weren’t disappointed.

Jamie Stenner, Gap to fishy
The bowl was so smooth and due the long coping and L shape, it made great for grinding and flowing lines.

Dan Ives, True topsoul
The Saffron Walden boys leading the way with Dan Ives huge airs on the 5ft transition and Joe Harvey easily owning the coping with 20ft savannahs.

Local Ian Brooke, ripping the park with this Gap to TopAcid
Most of the locals were surprised to see 50 rollerbladers killing the park but i guess thats what skatemeets are all about. As we settled in the bowl coping was getting faster and some of the skaters started wipping around the bowl and getting more tech.

Jamie Stenner, Air over the Hip

Joe Harvey, Full speed back royal around the corner to gap to the ground
Although the bowl was small the capacity for long grinds was incredible. Leon Humphries was loving it, also making use of the nice transitions.

Leon Humpries, skying a Stale Air with a few open mouths watching on.
The street section was small but wasn’t missed by Razors team member Mike Welland

Mike Welland, Back Torque to true ally-oop soul, 360 out

Master of skateparks Blake Bird with topside ally-oop all the way round the corner

Everyone that came recieved a copy of Kingdom Issue 5, I gave out at least 40 copies. Thanks Kingdom!. The kids that were ripping all recieved products like shirts, wheels and frames. Thanks to everyone who made the effort to get there and skated hard in the nice weather.

Stay tuned for Skatemeet No.8 next month.
